How should you compare Gingr and MoeGo?

Compare Gingr and MoeGo by asking each vendor to run your busiest day, including the exceptions your staff must resolve. Start with your service mix, then test the same booking, arrival, and checkout in both demos.

Use this scorecard to choose where to spend your demo time. Each product column describes its own published documentation, not a verdict on the other vendor.

Route optimization and service areas assigned to specific days. MoeGo scheduling

If you run a van, rebuild a route after a cancellation.

For each row, record whether you completed it, needed help, or still need proof. Add the required plan and any extra charge. Leave a blank when the vendor has not shown the answer.

Which should you shortlist for daycare, boarding, or grooming?

Shortlist both for a mixed facility, then give the most demo time to the service that drives your daily workload. Gingr describes service-specific Spa, Play, and Stay plans. MoeGo documents boarding and daycare alongside its grooming booking tools. Neither should be dismissed solely because of a familiar product label. Gingr plans, MoeGo boarding and daycare, MoeGo grooming booking.

If you mainly run daycare, start with arrivals, attendance, package use, and pickup. If overnight care is central, start with room availability and care instructions across a stay. If grooming fills your calendar, start with staff availability and the rules for assigning a pet to a groomer.

For a mixed business, ask the salesperson to connect those services. Use a sample boarding stay with a departure groom. Move the departure date and ask your receptionist to find the revised care instructions, grooming appointment, and amount due. Write down every place they need to check.

You can use the dog boarding software guide to prepare a fuller overnight-care checklist.

What should happen when a booking needs staff review?

You should be able to tell a request from a confirmed booking and see who must act next. Make the vendor show both the parent screen and the staff screen.

MoeGo’s grooming booking page describes approval of booking requests as needed, agreement requirements, and deposit or prepayment options. Its boarding and daycare overview separately describes booking requests and availability settings. Test the service you actually sell rather than assuming the grooming flow applies unchanged to overnight stays. MoeGo grooming booking, MoeGo boarding and daycare.

Gingr’s daycare page describes parent booking with capacity limits and PreCheck for paperwork, vaccinations, and belongings before arrival. Ask where your staff sees an unresolved requirement and what the parent sees while it remains unresolved. Gingr daycare.

Use a fictional household with an unsigned agreement and a missing required record. Try the request, correct the problem, and revisit it. Then ask a different staff member to explain its status without help from the salesperson. Do not accept a notification alone as proof that your team knows what to do next.

How should you test checkout and compare the full cost?

Ask for a written quote tied to the exact workflow you demonstrated, then test how the bill changes when the visit changes.

Start with the Gingr pricing page and MoeGo pricing page, but have each vendor name your service plan and billing basis. Gingr lists service-specific plans and add-ons. When you review MoeGo pricing, check the service and billing view. Do not use a mobile-grooming per-van price as a quote for your boarding or daycare business. A headline price is not enough to price your mixed facility. Gingr plan details, MoeGo plan details.

Request a quote that separates:

  • Your subscription, billing term, locations, and staff or vehicle limits.

  • Payment processing, hardware, messaging allowances, and optional tools.

  • Setup, data import, training, and support scope.

  • Renewal, cancellation, and data export terms.

For checkout, use a test visit with a prepaid package, an extra service, and a changed pickup time. Ask the vendor to show the original amount, the revised amount, and the explanation your staff can give the parent. Then demonstrate a failed payment and a refund using test transactions. Check that your receptionist can distinguish paid, unpaid, and refunded amounts.

Ask how you would get help during your opening hours. Put the included support channels, coverage hours, and escalation process in writing. Score the answer you receive for your plan.

What proof should you request before switching?

Request a sample import and a written list of included and excluded records before choosing a cutover date. Use anonymized examples rather than customer details in an initial sales call.

Prepare examples of a household with several pets, a vaccine attachment, a remaining package balance, a future booking, and an active membership. Ask where each would appear after import and what your staff must recreate. Treat saved payment methods and recurring billing as separate questions requiring written answers.

Have the vendor explain how you will check totals, correct mismatches, and handle bookings entered after the export. Assign a person on each side to approve the result. Keep the launch date conditional on that check.

If you are also considering Tato, ask to demonstrate an import using an agreed sample from your export. Get a facility-specific scope in writing. Do not assume every record, balance, saved card, or subscription will move.

When should you include Tato in the comparison?

Include Tato when you want to test parent requests and service-specific check-in alongside staff review. Use the questions below as your demo agenda, and ask what is available for your location.

For daycare, boarding, or grooming, ask to demonstrate a parent portal request that stays pending until staff approval. Submit it as a parent, review it as staff, and check the resulting parent status. Confirm which services and request options your location would use.

For Play Park, ask to demonstrate kiosk check-in with waiver and eligibility checks, pass or pack coverage, and payment for uncovered dogs. For daycare or boarding, keep the kiosk demo to same-day reservations or stays, without kiosk payment. Ask to see how a boarding arrival depends on a check-in-ready stay and assigned lodging. Confirm the setup for your service before including it in your launch plan.

If you use Tato, plan to keep a separate point-of-sale for drinks and food.

Plan to keep your drinks and food checkout separate unless the demo and written scope confirm a replacement. Walk through an open tab, a refund, and the end-of-day reconciliation with your current bar system in mind.

For a broader shortlist, read the Gingr alternative guide. Bring your sample day and an anonymized export example to your Tato demo. Ask to walk through a pending request, a blocked arrival, service-specific check-in, and the proposed import scope before discussing a launch date. Book your demo.
